30 YEARS OF INNOVATIVE THEATERWORKS AND COMMUNITY SERVICE

Our critically acclaimed interdisciplinary theaterworks have been seen extensively in Greater Los Angeles, North America, and on national television. Locally, we’ve unearthed L.A. history for new generations: our original production of They Shoot Mexicans, Don’t They? inventively explored 1920's Los Angeles and our recent production of Evangeline, the Queen of Make-Believe showcased the 1968 Chicano Student Walkouts. The dynamism of our work is due in large part to collaboration. We’ve partnered with leading Los Angeles-based musicians, writers, directors, designers, and performers — working together to create unique and vibrant works of theater.

YOUNG THEATERWORKS

In recent years, we’ve actively expanded community engagement via our Young Theaterworks educational program. This successful 18-year program serves L.A.’s highest risk students — introducing them to the power of writing.

You taught us the fundamentals of playwriting in such a fun yet educational way. You took our ideas and helped us turn them into a reality. You helped me open my mind and create something nice for people to enjoy.
