It's scary to realize that their lives are at a stage where they have become dependent on me for financial, physical and emotional support. Bug, I make this my priority to take on this responsibility without any hesitation because my parents have always provided the love and support I needed . Many years ago, I was thrust into the position of being a caregiver to my mom. I wasn't ready for any of it, physically or emotionally. But I was the only one my mom could turn to in her struggles. I faced many days of worry, sadness, frustration and uncertainty. I wish I would have known of the support that is out there and would have gained so much from the stories of others. Gladly, I see that these stories (universal stories) are now on stage. Time has a way of changing your perspective and appreciating life. As a caregiver I had many anxious moments about what my Mom was doing and how she was doing and made many phone calls when I though something might be going wrong.
