This June 15 through July 20, 2024, the critically acclaimed About…Productions theater company and their Young Theaterworks educational program, in partnership with Plaza de la Raza and the Getty Museum, presents a 5-week youth theater intensive, where we will explore performing art forms and storytelling through a world culture lens and collaboratively create an original performance.
Through theater games and exercises, improvisation, music, movement, and creative writing, participants will learn how to create together and share their stories and talent.
The 5-week workshop will culminate with TWO PUBLIC PERFORMANCES, one at the About…Productions summer base Plaza de la Raza on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 7:30pm and the second at the Getty Villa Museum in Pacific Palisades on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 3:00pm.
Classes run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Plaza de la Raza; with Thursday field trips to the Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades, 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM (transportation provided). No class on June 17, July 1, July 4, and July 5.
Parent/Student Orientation on Saturday, June 15 (11:00-12:00: Parent/Student Orientation; 12:00-12:30: Lunch for parents and students; 12:30-3:30: Students only, Session #1).
